My work has been dedicated to continuing the growth of our campus into a stronger community. For the past eleven months I have served as Junior Class President and Chair of the Student Life Committee of the SGA. In these capacities, I am proud to have:
For all of the successes listed above, I want to thank my co-chairs, committee members, and friends, as well as administrators, because none of it would have been possible without their hard work, insights, leadership, and open minds. Together, we were able to make the new meal plan requirement easier to afford for everyone, lessen the requirement's impact on Patterson Court, begin the work to better address varying mental health needs on campus, and start seeking student input on the best ways to use spaces for the changing needs of our student body.
These are critical components to a strong student body. Our hope is to continue these efforts together.
- Co-led direct negotiations with President Quillen to win concessions for students from the new meal plan requirement
- Secured the reduction of the meal plan requirement by over $700 (about 30%) from the College's initial policy
- Won the ability of Patterson Court houses to save over 25% on food costs by ordering raw food in bulk with the College's Dining Services
- Ensured that breakfast at the Union Cafe could be paid for on meal plan
- Overseen the start a new collaboration with the Counseling Center to better meet student needs
- Lobbied successfully for placing free laundry and drying machines in residence halls beginning next fall
- Co-chaired a committee that is working to recommend new uses for the current Lula Bell Houston laundry buildings
- Facilitated the planning of two successful Finals Feasts at the end of the last two semesters

My work has been dedicated to continuing the growth of a stronger campus community through my work with my classmates. Since the end of my first year, I have served as a peer health adviser on campus. In this capacity, I am proud to have:
- Provided health and
wellness programming campus wide for fraternities, dorms, and student organized
clubs under the direction of the health educator(Mrs. Georgia Ringle)
- Assisted and directed
students to the Counseling Center for issues related to sexual assault, mental health,
addiction and substance abuse.
- Identified areas in which
we as an institution need to more effectively meet students’ needs.
